Vision Insurance

An increasing part of the employee benefits offerings vision insurance provides a great value to your employees eye care for a relatively low cost.

Vision insurance can range from plans that just cover the bare minimum to expansive plans that cover high-cost eye treatments. Coverage is going to be in a narrow range of services especially an affordable plan for a small business.

A typical plan for a small business will cover routine eye exams (one per year), prescription eyewear (glasses and contacts), and glaucoma screening. Visits can be made to an ophthalmologist. or optometrist. Some average plans cover "usual and customary" treatment fees that result from a routine eye exam.

If you get your plan from an Vision HMO, coverage generally will restrict patients to seeing ophthalmologist. or optometrist that are within a network. Major health insurance carriers offer rider vision plans with limited services.
